Ukulele Shenanigans
UKULELE SHENANIGANS
A Shenanigan is like a ukulele jukebox, where we're the band! Participants choose songs from a list of 100+ song titles and we all play together ... virtually! You'll learn tips and techniques for adding texture and groove, which you can apply to many other tunes.
Hang on for the laughter and the ride as we sing and play and learn together. You'll get the most out of it if you have a fair strum and a decent command of at least the basic chords (A, Am, C, D, Dm, D7, E7, Em, F, G, G7).
This Shenanigan is geared for adults - there may be drinking and salty language on display as well as songs that celebrate bad choices, bad luck, and bad-assery.
All instruments are welcome, but rest assured that this is a uke-centric event and it is geared for adults. Instruction is focused on standard ukulele tuning (gCEA), but many techniques and tips are applicable to other instruments.
Everyone is muted during play, except for the Shenanigan leaders, Ukulele Clare and Rebecca Padula. Questions are welcome before and after.
As you learn to play any instrument, it's helpful to play along with others - it helps get you out of your head and become a more instinctive player. I look forward to seeing you at the Shenanigan!
